The Managing Partners and Founders of TEFL Worldwide (Cheryl, Terry and Paul) are all experienced professionals in the TEFL field.

Cheryl Drábová (Founder and Managing Partner) Cheryl is an American originally from Chicago and holds a BBA with a concentration in Marketing from Loyola University. During university she studied abroad in Paris and Rome and was never able to shake that European travel itch. After graduating she was off to Europe again landing in Prague this time. Her intentions were to just stay for a year. That was in 1999. She has been recruiting TEFL students for 6 years now and has helped hundreds of students prepare for their transition to Prague for their TEFL course and again onto other countries to begin their adventure teaching English overseas. Cheryl is in charge of the business side of TEFL Worldwide. She is also equipped with all the answers to your questions before, during and after your course. In her free time Cheryl enjoys travelling, reading and dining out.

Terry Prosser (Founder and Managing Partner) Terry has a Higher Licentiate Diploma in TESOL from Trinity College, a Postgraduate Teaching Diploma and a Master's Degree in TESOL/Applied Linguistics. He is one of Prague’s most experienced teacher trainers. Terry has designed and trained on courses in the Czech Republic and Spain. His extensive teaching experience includes ESP (English for Specific Purposes) to fighter pilots in the United Arab Emirates and EAP (English for Academic Purposes) at Middlesex University, England. Prior to that he was the Director of Studies for a large language school in Prague. Other experience includes teaching multilingual students at language schools in the UK. He is now a Teacher Trainer and Course Director at TEFL Worldwide. Terry likes sports, cinema, travel and spending time with his children, Daniela and Adam.

Paul Whitaker (Founder) Paul has been in EFL since 1992 and holds a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults and an MA in English Language Teaching from the University of Nottingham. He worked in the UK as a director of a summer school for several years, as an English lecturer for the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates and also has extensive experience as a teacher and teacher trainer in the Czech Republic. He started there in a small language school and progressed to teaching general and business English in the business faculty of the Silesian University. He regularly attends international conferences has given a host of presentations as well as having articles published in a variety of EFL journals. Paul is also a recognised Cambridge ESOL oral examiner. His main professional interests are in making teaching and training as practical as possible. In his free time he likes a variety of sports, travelling, photography and listening to music.

 


Renee Tremble (Job guidance coordinator)  Renee is a small town Wisconsin girl who has always loved traveling and exploring new places.  She has a B.A. in Child Psychology and a Masters Degree in Guidance Counseling.  After receiving her Educator’s license she randomly moved to Prague in
search of a study abroad like experience that she never had during college.  Though she originally planned to move on to a different country after the TEFL course, she fell in love Prague and has been teaching English here since finishing the course in March of 2009.  She currently teaches part time for a large language school in addition to her job at TEFL.  In the distant future she hopes to work in Africa or South America.  Renee enjoys spending time with her friends, exploring Prague, traveling, shopping, and being outdoors.

Jen Fry (Coordinator) Jen hails from the Washington, DC Metro Area and moved to Prague over one year ago in search of an exciting experience abroad as well as ‘la dolce vita” in the famed Golden City. She is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Virginia with a B.S. in Neuroscience and obtained her TEFL Certificate in May 2007. Jen serves as Prague Ambassador for Internations.org and as city administrator for MEETinPRAGUE, a 500+ member social networking group which she founded in Summer 2007. Jen has a passion for opera, cooking, all things Italian, marathon training, traveling, and sunny, warm days in Prague!

Hana Novotna (Administrative Assistant) Hana has lived in Asia for about 10 years and has travelled a lot throughout her life. She lived in Japan, Jakarta and even Taiwan. She studied mainly at international schools in these countries and learned many languages. During her stay abroad she encountered many different cultures and met a great variety of people. She and her family moved to Prague about six years ago and she is now studying Social Sciences at the Anglo-American College. In the future she hopes to work for a humanitarian organization because she loves helping people in need. In the past she has worked at a handicapped children`s home and has collected money for children who are sick with leukemia. She enjoys reading, swimming, going to the cinema and most of all travelelling.

 



Trisha Pospisil (Teacher Trainer) – A native of Minnesota, Trisha has been working in the education field since 2000. She holds a B.A. in English from The Ohio State University and a Masters in Education from Antioch University in Seattle, WA. She worked as a secondary English teacher in the states for four years and has been teaching EFL since earning her certificate from TEFL Worldwide in 2006. During her first stay in Prague she taught to adults in both the business and private sectors. Trisha has one year of experience in South Korea teaching elementary-aged children. As well as being a Teacher Trainer for TEFL Worldwide, Trisha is a Senior Trainer in a German-based language school where she teaches intensive business English courses for management trainees in some of Germany’s top companies. When she isn’t wearing the hat of teacher, wife, mother, or world traveler, she enjoys writing (with aspirations of telling all these travelling tales in an actual book!), gardening, biking, and relaxing in the beautiful Czech countryside.

Andrea Verdoljak (Teacher Trainer) Andrea assists Terry and Pete with the teaching practice portion of the course. She holds a TEFL certificate that she earned through TEFL Worldwide and has been teaching and living in Prague ever since.

Andrea grew up in Cerritos, a suburb south of Los Angeles, and attended Eastern Washington University on a volleyball scholarship. She graduated with a B.A. in Education and received Teaching Certification for the state of Washington. Andrea went back to California, and gained valuable experiences teaching and tutoring kids, but she wanted something more. After seeing parts of Europe on a high school trip, she knew she had to return. Her sister Tanya worked abroad in Ireland, and informed Andrea of the many job opportunities for English teachers in Europe. A year later, she was packing her bags and moving to Prague. Andrea enjoys watching movies, playing pool, scrapbooking, sports, music, and traveling.

 


 



Together we know first hand what it is like teaching English overseas, what employers worldwide are looking for in an EFL teacher and what is expected by the trainees attending our course. Along with our staff we ensure a professional environment, high-quality course and personalized care to all our trainees. We look forward to being a part of your teaching English abroad experience.
